SOCIAL TOPICS IN TARABLUS AL-GHARB PRESS 1908-1911

Abstract

During the second Ottoman era, the state of Tarablus Al-Gharb witnessed the emergence of many local, Italian and Jewish newspapers, especially in the period of 1908-1911, which was characterised by the spread of many various newspapers such as Al-Taraqiy, Al-Murshid, Al-Kshaf, Tarablus Al-Gharb, and Abuqshah, as a result of the political change that occurred in 1908 after the association of Committee of Union and Progress who  took the  power in the Ottoman Empire and the states         ( countries( subject to it.

Despite the different names and directions of these newspapers, some of them challenged in the name of authority and others challenged in the name of independent cultural groups, the critical nature of the country's social aspect was a clear feature of their writings and articles. Writers used their writing and articles to find solutions for socially marginalised group, they also asked to improve health and educational conditions of society, and discussed the social problems of the Tarblus society, calling for appropriate solutions. To clarify this, the research is divided into two main sections. The first section discusses the history of Tarblus Al-Gharab press during the second Ottoman era. The second section focuses on the social topics that were written in the Tripoli press during the period 1908-1911.
