Professor Nagi Idris is an internationally recognized expert in neuropsychopharmacology. He has over 25 years of academic and research experience in Libya and the United Kingdom. Based at the University of Tobruk, he has been instrumental in advancing pharmacological treatments for schizophrenia and related psychiatric disorders.
He has published widely in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and led major research projects funded by prominent pharmaceutical sponsors. His work has been showcased at leading international conferences, and he has earned numerous awards and research bursaries.
In addition to his research, Professor Idris serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Tobruk University Journal of Medical Sciences and is a peer reviewer for journals including Neuropsychopharmacology and Behavioural Brain Research. He is deeply committed to academic leadership, contributing to curriculum development, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and mentoring early-career researchers
