The role of open educational resources in raising the quality of university education

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the extent to which faculty members use OER resources at Al-Marqab University and to identify the role of OER in raising the quality of university education The researcher used the descriptive method in view of the nature of his objectives. The researcher chose the random sample of the research. The sample of the research was (90) member of the teaching staff of QAR and 33% of the research society of 270 members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, And five engineering for the academic year (2017-2018). In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher built the research tool represented in the questionnaire to collect information and data. The questionnaire consists of (27) paragraphs and the researcher divided it into two axes, then presented to a group of arbitrators to verify its validity for the application  The results of the research showed the following: Dependence on printed materials mainly in the delivery of information and knowledge to the learner in a traditional way and the delivery of courses to students traditionally. The halls and laboratories at Al-Muraqqab University are not equipped with modern equipment. - Non-teaching of students according to the system of virtual classrooms and the absence of a digital library serving the curriculum. - Open learning materials develop the learner'sself-learning skills Provide the learner with a great deal of diversity, develop scientific thinking skills, provide updated content continuously and encourage learners to learn cooperative and continuing education. - Raising the level of achievement for students because of the diversity of content andreduce.
In light of the research results, the researcher recommends that the university provide electronic services to benefit the faculty member in the educational process of the students and involve him in training courses on the production skills of the open book and the use of the techniques of the global network in distance learning in the dissemination of courses and exchange of electronic messages Between learners and their teachers.the cost to students.
