Abstract

The emergence of the Internet and information technology contributed to the development of services for libraries and information centers and the creation of new ones. Many of them went to participate in computing projects and their technologies, starting with subscribing to databases and digitizing their balances all the way to cloud computing, as with the development of technologies available through the web and the increase in Internet speeds available to users, many institutions made their applications available for use through The Internet in what is known as cloud computing, as this technology has provided its users with better advantages such as saving costs and making information services available to a larger segment of beneficiaries, as it is for the user and information institutions the ability to store, process, transfer and share information from anywhere and at any time without the obligation to use a personal computer. Rather, all these procedures (storage, processing, transmission and sharing) are performed on external servers available on the Internet, while ensuring the security of this information and preserving it from hackers or viruses. This study derives its importance from the importance of the topic it deals with, which is the disclosure of the latest technologies of the second generation of Web 0.2 "cloud computing", as it is one of the topics that have spread recently, and this topic is among the issues that have become touching the essence of university libraries, which have become a demand By responding to it and keeping pace with development and advancement and keeping pace with modern technologies, the importance of this study is also represented by the expected set of additions it offers, which can benefit researchers in the academic field and practitioners in practical reality. In preparing the research, the two researchers relied on a descriptive survey approach to achieve the research objectives. At the end of the research, the two researchers reached the following results: Faced with the amazing development in the field of technology, modern technologies have emerged that give libraries an opportunity to improve their services and perform their functions with high efficiency and effectiveness. The only way for this step is cloud computing and the applications provided by this technology, which help libraries to save technologies, time and effort, and provide remote services. The application of cloud computing requires conditions that must be met by libraries, such as updating the infrastructure, as well as the need to program programs and training courses on a regular basis that benefit those working within these libraries. It also imposes security challenges related to the confidentiality and privacy of data by placing it on an external network as well as protecting it from piracy and viruses. The researchers recommend the following: The necessity of educating library workers about the importance of cloud computing technology and the services it provides. Providing the necessary technological skills for library workers, which allow them to use these modern technologies.
